Plinky: 3 songs I'd put on my road-trip mix tape

There are good songs and then there are great songs. Then there are the great songs that are fun to sing either in the car by yourself or on a road trip with loved ones and friends. These are the three that I would make sure that were on my Ipod road trip mix.

Mary Jane's Last Dance by Tom Petty because of the "Oh my my, oh hell yes, Honey put on that party dress" This is by far the best Tom Petty song...and quite frankly, I like it.

Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond because that involves the "ba ba ba's" and swaying your hands...might not be so great for the driver, but the driver certainly can sing the "ba ba ba's" at the top of their lungs.

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen because of the start of this: "I see a little silhouetto of a man..." In true Wayne's World fashion, someone in the car needs to do the air cymbals and each person has to take turns singing the "silhouetto" part or it just wouldn't be the same.

The Monster at the End of This Book brings me back

The Monster at the End of the End of this Book was my favorite children's book. I loved Monster because I remember it made me laugh a lot. I thought Gover was so funny, his limbs flailing about, asking me not to turn the next page...and me still turning it. I read that book so much that I memorized it. I remember specifically sitting on the floor next to my Dad's easy chair and reading it to him over and over and over again. I bet he was so sick of that book.

I just had an epiphany about another reason why I like this book: everyone who knows me knows that I don't like being told what to do. This book is nothing but Grover telling the reader what to do and the reader defying him and turning the page anyway. Hmmmm....I was such a rebel for finishing that book. Over and over and over again.

My first Plinky

This is an answer from my first Plinky. I kind of like the whole purpose of Plinky and gives everyone a kick in the pants to write something on their blog. What a great idea! The following is my answer to: What was your first job?

My first job was at the Truck Stop my parents managed. My sister and I donned our dual pony tails, short-shorts, tank tops and smiles. We sat in front of the store and sold Kool Aide to the truckers. Did I mention we were only 6 and 4? And oh how we made a killing. If I had kids now, I would pimp them out to do the same thing.

In fact, here is a picture of it with some weird trucker guy touching us...ewww:
