Justin and I went to smash plates yesterday, which felt good to let out some of the sadness and anger...but I think it was much more cathartic for me to write the post I did yesterday. So thank you for listening.
I don't know what to call what happened to me yesterday other than a crisis. I know we lost Z over two months ago but the last several weeks I feltMelanie:http://www.blogger.com/profile/15745292198195913738noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8010091637106218576.post-75889616953910606622011-08-04T10:49:00.000-07:002011-08-05T11:42:08.538-07:00Europe, Pantyliners and PashminasJustin and I had a nice long vacation in Europe several months ago. Never having been on a three week vacation before, I did a lot of research on how and what to pack. I looked on travel websites for tips. I decided that since we were staying in an apartment with access to washer that I would only take one weeks worth of clothes. I picked neutral colors for most of my outfits. I brought a skirt, Melanie:http://www.blogger.com/profile/15745292198195913738noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8010091637106218576.post-8716786322658968782011-07-20T07:30:00.000-07:002011-07-20T07:30:01.396-07:00Camping Part 2It was around 3pm when the pugs finally calmed down and Justin was able to start cooking lunch. I was feeling a lot better about camping by this point. I think it may have had to do with the beer, music and snacks.
By this point, we were in a little bay all alone, just the two of us and 3 barking pugs. We put the pugs in the tent trailer, set them up on the beds so they can watch us, and went Melanie:http://www.blogger.com/profile/15745292198195913738noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8010091637106218576.post-77302389176775610272011-07-19T11:06:00.000-07:002011-07-19T11:06:43.366-07:00Camping Part 1Justin and I have a tent trailer. We bought this tent trailer for $50 about 6 years ago. Justin made that happen. There was a guy on Craigslist that needed a laptop. We had just been given a laptop through a friend because the screen did not work. Justin was able to have it fixed for $50. So he traded the laptop for the tent trailer. It's a decent tent trailer. It is from the 1970s and it shows. Justin and I stopped blogging around the same time last year. I couldn't think of a good reason why we both stopped until I had the urge again to blog this morning and Justin actually did blog...we are both finally feeling liberated. More specifically, my Dad's suicide. I don't talk about it for several reasons, but mainly because I don't want to open up that wound. Who am I kidding? The wound that is still there. I'm sure it will always be open a little at times, maybe festering at other times, hopefully one day just a scar. But the wound is not at that point ofMelanie:http://www.blogger.com/profile/15745292198195913738noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8010091637106218576.post-24236328690405050912009-04-11T12:39:00.000-07:002009-04-11T13:34:28.352-07:00Gifts from DadOn Monday will be the 5 year anniversary of my Dad's death. I decided to write a letter to my Dad a few weeks ago, it is set to publish on Monday. Something has happened that I need to post today, so Monday's post may seem a little out of order...but I just need to tell you all about this. There have been a few times in the past where when I have really missed my Dad or something big has happened Melanie:http://www.blogger.com/profile/15745292198195913738noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8010091637106218576.post-80170811769253142142009-04-08T06:58:00.001-07:002009-04-08T07:03:42.916-07:00Plinky: 3 songs I'd put on my road-trip mix tapeThere are good songs and then there are great songs. I loved Monster because I remember it made me laugh a lot. I thought Gover was so funny, his limbs flailing about, asking me not to turn the next page...and me still turning it. I read that book so much that I memorized it. I remember specifically sitting on the floor next to my Dad's easy chair and reading it to Melanie:http://www.blogger.com/profile/15745292198195913738noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8010091637106218576.post-53607087800778822872009-03-28T06:00:00.000-07:002009-03-28T06:00:00.591-07:00My first PlinkyThis is an answer from my first Plinky.
